Introducing Glue Apple Watch App, your keys, now just a tap away.
We’re starting 2021 with something we know you’ve all been looking forward to - our new Apple Watch app. As an Apple Watch user myself, I love the convenience of being able to pay, check the weather, control my music or get directions from my wrist. Now, with two taps, my watch is the key to my home as well. This means when I’m returning home with my hands full I don’t need to fumble in my pockets for my iPhone. Even better, when I’m heading out on a run or to cycle, I don’t need to have my phone or my keys in my pockets. We know you’ve been waiting a while for this update, so we’re pleased to finally bring you the added convenience and speed.
How does it work?
We’ve designed the Apple Watch app to be a faster and more convenient way to lock and unlock your door. It works using Bluetooth BLE, which makes it fast and secure. You’ll need to be in close proximity to the door when you’re unlocking it rather than being able to remote lock and unlock the door. We’ve done this to keep things as secure as possible.
How is it performing?
Really well - we’ve had strong results and positive feedback from our Beta testers. We’re seeing that using Apple Watch is delivering good reliability and consistently faster unlocking times. In combination with not having to get your phone out of your bag or pocket, should result in a great experience at the door.
What else can the Apple Watch app do?
The core functionality of the Apple Watch app is to lock and unlock your door. However, notifications setup and services like Door Alert setup, then the alert will appear on your watch. Just make sure that you have enabled notifications on your iPhone and they will appear on your Apple Watch. To view the alert and get more information, just open your iPhone app.
